This 2012 USA election is still all about Women’s Rights

Will men let women chose what they want to do with their bodies or not.

The Republicans say that women cannot choose what to do with their bodies while the Democrats say that a woman can chose to do what they want with their bodies.

The USA is a secular country and is not dominated by any religion at all as there is freedom of religion in the USA, which does include the Atheists and agnostics as well as those religions that have no god figure in them at all.

We are a country of laws, courts and justices to settle disputes.

One of the areas that are still in dispute in some peoples mind is that women in the USA legally can get abortions. The Republicans, Southern Baptists and the Evangelicals don’t want women that live in the USA to have that legal right to an Abortion and want that practice to stop. That is still an area of contention in this election.

The Republicans, Southern Baptists and the Evangelicals are in error in those thoughts and this is not a biblical country and religious laws do not apply in the USA at all.

Southern Baptists and Evangelicals are not political parties. When you talk about Republicans, are you talking about people who are registered as republicans and always vote the “party line” or people who are registered as republicans and vote their conscience?

Either way, I don't think that your premise of what the 2012 election is all about holds up. I won't try to prioritize them, but there are jobs, the economy, foreign policy, immigration, welfare, and no budget for three years.

It’s totally obvious to me that President Barack Obama in a black man and I assume that is who you are referring to. Why do I use that description? Because it’s totally obvious and I chose to do that.

Your assumption that I was referring to him is wrong because I wasn’t referring to any particular person. I was talking about the presidential campaign overall and what topics might be important other than women’s rights.

Men have always wanted to control women since men usually have mothers. Women, having less power than men, want to control men. The tradeoff is that men can demand to legislate women's behavior and women can gain approval by supporting that demand.

In other words, they agree that women are second class citizens.

Personally, I think that full legal and social equality for women is in th interest of men. As a man, I do not fear the concept of women controlling their bodies. I do not fear that it will shut off my access to sex. I do no fear that it will prevent men from fathering children. men, if you want to become dads, you have to earn it. You don't deserve it just because you are bigger and stronger than the woman.

The problem with the GOP is that Akin's position- a raped woman needs to take her chances on having the rapist's baby- is no longer an extreme position. Paul Ryan agrees with it. Romney might not, but Romney's abortion policies have drifted to the right under Tea Party pressure. here in Virginia, we just passed a bill that women seeking abortion need to undergo a forced ultrasound to,change their minds. As if they are children, incapable of thinking for themselves.

One would think that most men wouldn't want to know the icky, gory, details of our bodies. Especially for most of us once a month. If men could have babies I am sure there would be a lack of children in the world. I wish each man could experience what we do on a regular basis. I don't think a man would last a day with our bodies...

Heather. The first prayer Jewish men say each morning is: "Thank God, I'm not a woman." I don't think you'll find any argument from Jewish men on your comments. My point has more to do with the egocentricity of men (in general) - as if they have any business commenting on women's bodies, in the first place.

What I find tragic is how many people suffered so that women have rights. So that we are not second class citizens. Have all those women suffered in vain? If we lose the right to control our bodies, next goes free speech, then goes the vote and we will be back in an uncivilized world where women are expected to stay home pregnant again!! It wasn't that long ago that women had no rights!! Men could do what they wanted but women were shunned from everything. Why would anyone want to live that way again? I sure don't. I don't want any man telling me I have to stay home, that I have to have a baby, that I have to hand over my paycheck. It wasn't that long ago people...

It is a symptom of a wider problem. Not only would women lose what they've gained over the last century, but you would also see an extreme disregard for the supporting structures of life itself. Men deify themselves, and expect all else in creation to bow down on command. Nature is fast losing patience with this self-aggrandizement that men afford themselves. It is not that different than what women would be willing to put up with, either - or so I hope.
